Michael Venn is a producer, writer, director, musician, and dad (not necessarily in that order). He\u2019s played drums in several bands over the years beginning with the avant-guard jazz band \u201cPrajna\u201d that found it\u2019s home in the downtown jazz scene of NYC\u2019s Knitting Factory. The folk\/rock trio \u201cThe Dan Blakeslee 3\u201d, the moody indie-rock group \u201cthe Water Section\u201d, and most recently Michael is playing and recording with \u201cLost Nation Road\u201d who\u2019s music has been featured in Juston McKinney’s web series \u201cHosed\u201d and the feature comedy \u201cHannah has a Ho-Phase\u201d. His film work began with Marc Dole in \u201cTweet\u201d, he later made his writer\/director debut in the short film \u201cDark Scribbles\u201d and most recently is collaborating as producer and co-director with Dole in the feature documentary \u201cIn Danger of Being Discovered\u201d.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Hi. I\u2019m Jon McCormack and I\u2019m a guitarist, songwriter, singer, teacher and muisc producer from New Hampshire. I\u2019ve\u00a0played in a lot of bands, written a lot of songs, played a lot of shows, made a lot of friends,\u00a0collected some amazing stories and I know all of this just the beginning.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve shared the stage with some big names on some big stages and I\u2019ve slugged it out in small clubs. I feel comfortable onstage –\u00a0in my element. I\u2019m compelled to write music. It comes to me when I\u2019m not thinking about it, when I get out of the way and just let it happen, which is easier said than done.<\/p>\n

I can do tasteful and refined and I can do it well but I\u2019m most comfortable with powerful, grooving, edgy, comedic and melodic.<\/p>\n

I love it when it feels like the wheels might come off at any moment\u2026and then they don\u2019t\u2026the same feeling you get from going too fast in a hot car or jumping from too high into cold water. A little danger in your music goes a long way.<\/p>\n

Now I get to\u00a0check “Co-Producer of a Music Documentary that takes place in the scene I gre up in and\u00a0love…”\u00a0off my bucket list. This has been a great project and I can’t wait to see where it goes from here!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
